There is a cliff walk for a closer view. This place puts you in touch with nature and will make you want to just hang out. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and the pool area is beautifully tropical. That said the road to hana is right at your feet and a must do for adventure... We loved it and you will too.....

  We had a wonderful stay in the lookout house in February 2022! We turned the chairs to face outward and watched the sunrise there every day. The beds are comfortable, kitchen well equipped, hot tub warm & bubbly, and the pool refreshing (though unheated, so a bit cold in winter). The setting is super private - the only times we saw other guests in 10 days were a couple times as we were driving off the property. We loved staying in this hidden corner of Maui, which is beautiful, lush, and not crowded by other people. That said, it is remote (about a half hour to Paia, the nearest town), so if you want night life, easy access to restaurants, etc, this probably isn’t the spot for you. Hosts Sharyn and Jeff were available but generally hands-off unless needed, which we appreciated.

It can be easy to feel like a clueless tourist on Maui (because, face it, you probably are!) but this quiet, peaceful corner allows you to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the prime tourist destinations - while still being minutes away from them!

The place is a couple miles into the Road to Hana, so we felt especially smug about getting a head start on our Hana day trip to beat the heaviest of tourist traffic, and the drive back from Hana was much shorter than it would've been had we stayed elsewhere on the island, so that was a major perk! We also loved just relaxing in the private hot tub under the night sky (great stargazing), laying by the pool, and checking in on the chickens.

and coffee for breakfast. We were quite touched by the beautiful welcome.

The top floor allows breathtaking 180 degree views of the ocean, palm trees, flowers and lush greenery. Sunrise here is a wonderful experience. It’s a great way to start your day.

A big plus for this location is it’s only 10-15 minutes from the Twin Falls on the Hana Highway. It’s your first major stop on that journey. This is a big asset at the end of a long day when you get to go home while everyone else has to continue driving exhausted to the other side of Maui. I highly recommend this house. More

My wife and I... read more grabbed the opportunity to book a last-minute, 5-night stay at the Ocean Lookout, and I can easily say it was one of the best travel decisions we've made yet. Just a short drive from the airport, you take a short side road and enter a property lush and full of life - not to mention epic, EPIC views of the north coast on one side, Haleakala on the other. It's your call whether you want to explore the trails on the Road to Hana, roll into Paia for a great meal, or try a beach just across the way. Heck, maybe you'll just stay and enjoy the house's quiet vibes, or that hot tub at the end of your day! Everything feels possible from here, and your hosts are charming and eager to share their recommendations. You see, Maui had been our very first trip off-mainland 12 years earlier, and after a tough experience we'd been bypassing it in favor of the Big Island. We were lucky enough to stay for two nights and had one rainy day that gave us an excuse not to go out and adventure. By far the best vacation day we have had. We were able to enjoy the hot tub and view and all of the amazing amenities. A true tropical country Wonderland.

Accommodations were homey and comfy (the dining room table which sitting at has you looking out over the ocean is itself a work of art!), facilities fantastic (more below on those), and hosts very warm and welcoming. Kiddo loved the pool, and the hot tub; Mr and Mrs have to agree with her. Access to some beach gear was a bonus for folks who travel light. We were fortunate to stay in the Ocean Lookout which is worth the extra money for the space and the stunning views. We encourage you to take the short walk to the cliff’s end to better appreciate the wonderful environs from which Sharyn and Jeff have created a truly special place to stay.

The warmth and hospitality of the owners and staff is excellent and every item you need is there at your disposal. You are welcomed with the space adorned with flowers and they set you up with the basics like coffee, bread, and eggs in case you came in late we have been here twice and each time it’s been a treasure of an experience! This location would also work for a family reunion because there are different accommodations all over this gorgeous property!

We were wrong, it is a short drive to Paia a cute little town with plenty to do. We were able to tour the entire island! Also being right on the Road to Hana we were able to do the drive twice, the first time we made the whole loop.

The treats that Sharyn left for us were delish, specially that BREAD!! Since returning home we have definitely been more cautious of our recyclables, it was a great learning experience for us both!

We cannot wait to return to paradise!!

It's also on... read more the road to Hana, so some of the amazing things to explore are right around the corner. Close to the unit you can hike, get to Twin Falls, and see amazing views! We loved going to the lookout to see the ocean and the cliffs. The rental has everything you need and more. Sharyn is an incredible host. She provides some local treats and very special gifts that make you feel at home when you arrive. We love love loved the outdoor shower and hot tub, especially at night when you can see the stars. This was the kind of place you both want to come back to and want to recommend to all of your friends and family. 11/10!

We utilized every aspect of the property from the sea cliff walk, the impeccably clean hot tub, to the very refreshing pool after a long day hiking. The bathroom and outdoor shower are absolutely beautiful, no detail left out. Say hi to the chix at least once, they were very friendly and gave us a taste of home while we stayed on Maui. No need to leave if you are looking to just indulge the senses and enjoy the local life of a Hawaiian, it was wonderfully quiet, and we felt we had the entire place to our own.
